New York, NY - IT Purchasing and Procurement Coordinator
GTS is seeking an IT Purchasing and Procurement Coordinator with proven expertise working with IT hardware/software vendors. This person will work in fast-paced environments that require exceptional written, verbal and client-service skills. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, has a self-starter mindset and can bring new ideas to contribute to ongoing process improvement.
The IT Purchasing and Procurement Coordinator will work with the GTS Support team to fulfill purchasing requirements for various-sized enterprise clients (hardware and software for infrastructure, storage, networks, server, IT appliances and structured cabling management components).
- The work location is one of our four office. Brooklyn, Lakewood, Waterbury or Wilkes Barre
- This is a full-time position offering full benefits after the initial 90 days trial period.
Responsibilities
- Procure and ship various IT vendor products (DellEMC, HPE, and Microsoft) to various GTS client facilities for installation and deployment
- Vendor management, including registering for deals
- Work with the Accounting teams to ensure accurate forecasting
- Manage the completion of all routine procurement activities
- Direct buying assignments
- Prioritize demand from clients
- Know when to and how to sell upgrades to clients
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships
- Negotiate best pricing and delivery with vendors
- Satisfy needs of Project Managers in the field in a timely manner
- Act as liaison between product support, accounting and project managers for parts
- Process client credit applications
- Retain a directory of suppliers and vendors and the processing of client lease applications
- Generate client invoices for parts and assist with monthly reconciliations.
- Responsible for RMA Return Merchandise Authorization reconciliation with accounting
Qualifications
- Minimum two years of purchasing experience with some IT procurement knowledge preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience required
- Some experience procuring computer hardware, software and peripherals is strongly preferred
- Some knowledge of DellEMC, HPE, and Microsoft product purchasing, and licensing is strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of inventory management and shipping/receiving
- Understanding of vendor pricing programs and promotions is strongly desired
- Good math skills are required
- A basic understanding of fundamental accounting is preferred
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and client service skills
- Good negotiation skills
- Positive attitude and client-service driven
- Interest in the technology and hardware industries
- Microsoft Office proficiency including Word and Excel
- MS Dynamics GP (Great Plains), ConnectWise and Quosal (or similar proposal and quote automation software) knowledge a plus
